The Warenhuis in Oss underwent a major refurbishment last year. It is a magnificent multi-purpose building housing, amongst other things, a municipal archive and shop, a library and various meeting and workspaces. In collaboration with Nelissen Ingenieursbureau, we contributed ideas on the optimal lighting control system during the preliminary phase, and were subsequently commissioned by Hendriks Techniek to design and implement the system.
The system comprises local control panels and a central touchscreen, allowing users to switch easily between different lighting settings. In addition, multi-sensors with integrated daylight control ensure that the lighting is automatically adjusted based on occupancy and the amount of natural daylight. This means that lighting is only provided when and where it is needed, which helps to reduce energy consumption.
To further automate management, the lighting control system is linked to the burglar alarm system. As soon as the alarm is activated, all the lights are automatically switched off. This prevents unnecessary energy consumption and ensures that the building is immediately set to the correct mode after closing time.
