Fenix

For the pioneering Fenix project – the refurbished art museum on migration in Rotterdam – we have installed a complete Helvar lighting management system. The building was named Public Building of the Year 2025, partly due to its innovative architecture.

A total of 14 950 routers have been installed. Via our ucontrol platform, users can easily manage and control all the lighting using multiple tablets and a central touchscreen. This allows the lighting to be adjusted for each room.

A key feature of Fenix is the public square, where many events and activities take place. Here, in collaboration with the AV contractor, we have implemented an integration for the dynamic coloured lighting. In addition, we have also set up an integration to control a large number of wireless luminaires.

In collaboration with Beersnielsen Lighting Designers, we have configured the lighting so that it adapts to each space, depending on the time of day and weather conditions. This ensures that visitors enjoy an optimal experience in every room. This is also in keeping with the building’s ambitious vision: a dynamic space where history, culture and innovation come together.
