Ronald McDonald House Emma
Amsterdam
Amsterdam
March 2025, Ronald McDonald Huis Emma in Amsterdam celebrated its 40th anniversary and opened its doors in September 2024 after an intensive renovation. Huis Emma is a place where parents can stay to be close to their sick child being treated at Emma Children's Hospital. The renovated Huis Emma therefore had to meet the wishes and needs of its users; the families of the children and the staff of Huis Emma.
The conversion consisted of a new construction and renovation project. Part of the old building was demolished to make way for new construction and another part was completely renovated. A Helvar lighting management system was chosen on behalf of SDR Elektrotechniek.
Most rooms in the building are equipped with sensors that control lighting based on movement. In a number of rooms, such as the living rooms and multi-purpose rooms, control panels have been installed for manual operation of the mood lighting. The lighting can also be controlled via a central touchscreen.
We have been providing a year-long online service since delivery. This gives the end user the assurance that any problems will be solved online as quickly as possible. In this way, we try to contribute as much as possible to the peace of mind and comfort that Huis Emma offers to the parents of sick children.
On behalf of Lighting Controls, we were pleased to present a cheque to House Emma. All Ronald McDonald Houses are completely dependent on gifts and donations, so we are happy that we can contribute in this way to this beautiful organisation and the great work they do.
