Vas Diasdreef - The Hague
ROC Mondriaan's new building on the Vaz Diasdreef in The Hague was put into use in early 2024. Sustainability and user comfort were key during construction. The building is heated and cooled with heat pumps and low-energy, smart lighting was chosen.
The wireless ActiveAhead® system was used in the corridors and classrooms. For the public areas, such as the auditoriums, the scalable Helvar Imagine system was chosen. The realisation of this project was commissioned by Maas & Hagoort, in cooperation with Steegman.
Around 1,100 ILLUXTRON inset luminaires have Helvar LED drivers and ActiveAhead nodes and sensors installed. The nodes are interconnected via Bluetooth Mesh to form a network. This self-learning network automatically adjusts lighting based on the use of the building.
Downlighters are installed in the corridor areas, each with its own node. Here, multiple nodes can be controlled via a single sensor incorporated in the ceiling via a sensor holder. In the classrooms, the lighting is divided into two zones, which can be controlled manually with wire- and battery-free switches.
