House Modernes equipped with ActiveAhead system
Right in the centre of Utrecht, on the corner of Oude Gracht and Lange Viestraat, stands a multifunctional building: House Modernes. The building houses shops, offices, bicycle parking spaces and catering facilities.
It was decided to equip the offices with a Helvar ActiveAhead system. The offices are not equipped with a suspended ceiling, so the choice was made to use light lines. Each luminaire contains an ActiveAhead Node that connects to Nodes in its vicinity via the mesh network. Daylight and motion sensors ensure that the light only comes on when needed.
The layout of the floors is flexible and can be adjusted according to the user's wishes by installing glass walls. For this, ActiveAhead is the perfect solution: the installation no longer needs to be adjusted because the system's self-learning capability ensures that the lighting is always properly matched to the room. In addition, wireless controls can easily be added locally for manual control.
