St Jansdal hospital

Harderwijk
Hospital St Jansdal in Harderwijk is undergoing a major (re)construction at the OR and the CSA (Central Sterilisation Department). The hospital, present in Harderwijk since 1987, is a medium-sized hospital with about 1,850 employees. 'You take care of each other' is central to the hospital. This is realised, among other things, because almost all specialisms are present in the hospital, giving St Jansdal a broad package of care to offer.
To ensure that these specialisms can continue to be optimally represented at the hospital, it was necessary to make adjustments to the complex. In doing so, the hospital opted for all kinds of modern applications. Rest and stress reduction for patients was an important starting point. An important choice, made to realise this, is the choice for maximum daylight entry.
The new part of St Jansdal is fully equipped with DALI lighting. On behalf of Unica Zwolle, Helvar fitted the ORs and other departments with a DALI light management system. As there is a lot of daylight, many daylight and motion sensors were used. These switch the lighting on automatically the moment there is movement and dim the lights when daylight is present or no movement is detected.
Besides the standard functionalities, the DALI lighting management system is linked to the Saia building management system. Via the Saia system, the lighting can be controlled and fault messages are received. A floor plan on a touchscreen allows faults to be displayed and read out.
The emergency lighting is also linked to the DALI light management system. The emergency lighting is automatically tested through the standards, allowing defects to be resolved quickly.
The programming of the system was realised by software engineers from Helvar, in collaboration with Unica Regeltechniek Zwolle
